In the past it was difficult for patients to visualize what they would look like with a new smile. Using an instant dental template made of space-age plastic everything has changed. Within one minute, a patient can see what a beautiful new smile can look like. The template comes in four sizes. We start by measuring the width of your front tooth and the corresponding template chosen. The template can be slipped in over the existing teeth and held in place, or it can be relined with a temporary material to make it easier to view without fingers in place. It’s quick and simple and the patients are Amazed!!.
In this fast-paced world of email and pagers, doctors as well as patients may be more accepting of a quicker, simpler approach to find out if you are a candidate for cosmetic dentistry. For years, I had used temporary bonding as a quick “mockup” directly in the patient’s mouth as a simple way to Test-Drive a new smile. With the advent of SmileVision – we could take a picture and via the computer the patient could “see” what they would look like with a new smile. However, it is time-consuming to do temporary bonding or even to take photographs, download them, and wait for SmileVision to do their magic.
Using a disposable template shaped like beautiful teeth that can be placed over natural teeth a patient and his or her family can see instantly what a smile enhancement can look like. This new technique benefits the dentist and the patient. It allows the dentist to spend less time using impressions, mock-ups and digital imaging to show their patient the possibilities of smile enhancement. It allows the staff to get involved because the system is so easy, staff can try in templates for patients prior to seeing the dentist. No more waiting for computer imaging, no more impressions and return visits, no more unnecessary mock-ups. It allows the patient in an instant see their own Smile.
How long will it last?
An instant dental template is temporary. The goal is only to show what your smile could look like if you were to enhance your smile through with elective service such as veneers, implants, crowns or whitening. The patient can then wear template home to show their spouse or family member their new smile The patient then just removes the template and throws it out.

MEASURE…. 2. INSERT….. 3. SMILE……
1. We MEASURE the width of the patient’s front teeth and then choose a disposable template.
2. INSERT – We drry and isolate the teeth. Apply clear bite material over your teeth to accept template. We insert the template and hold in place over patient teeth until material has set.
3. SMILE
Once the material has set – We let go of template and allow you, the patient, to see how great your smile can look with an enhancement procedure. Now you can look at Before and After photos to see how a “real” cosmetic procedure has helped other patients.
